SEN. NEDA FACILITATED MEDICAL OUTREACH- 24TH AUGUST 2024

Health has become a luxury commodity in Nigeria, with people across varied socioeconomic status
having less purchasing power for their basic needs including healthcare.

This situation is due to the biting economic hardship across Nigeria. In addition to this, access to quality and affordable healthcare services has remained a daunting challenge.

These issues are palpable across Nigeria and Edo state is not spared. Considering this, distinguished
Senator Neda Imasuen has taken the initiative to reach out to his constituency, the good people of Edo South Senatorial District to provide free quality healthcare services.

Senator Neda Imasuen is extremely passionate about ensuring that the health/well-being of his
constituents does not suffer regardless of the economic realities.

In collaboration with the National Cereals Research Institute Badeggi, he is facilitating a one-day free
medical outreach program.

The objectives of the medical outreach program are to provide essential healthcare services, health
education, and preventive interventions to underserved communities in Edo South Senatorial District, thereby improving access to healthcare and promoting well-being among his constituents.

The scope of the medical outreach is as follows:
•Health talk and advocacy.
•Vitals check- including physical examination, BMI, BP, pulse rate.
•Point of care testing for malaria and blood glucose.
•Eye test- visual acuity and ophthalmoscopy.
•Consultation with medical doctors and optometrists.
•Free distribution of antimalarial drugs, antihypertensive drugs, oral hypoglycemic drugs, vitamins, etc.
•Free distribution of eyeglasses and eyedrops.

The program will take place on Saturday, the 24th of August 2024 at Idogbo Community Town-hall, Idogbo, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Edo State.

It is the belief of the distinguished senator that this program will contribute significantly to addressing
healthcare disparities and promoting health equity among the constituents whom he represents.
